Using a colored tape does have several perks - first of all, you can see where the seal is, which is hardly ever the case with transparent tapes. Still, in the case of this particular black tape, it does give each seal a kind of industrial look, which I do not dig.

I love these colored tapes - I actually have several shades, but the black one is the most conservative and looks good with every bag and product. I also love that you can use it without any special dispensers, even though dispensers can supposedly make the job even easier.
